If you place an order through Buttonist, we will ask you for your e-mail address, shipping address, and telephone number. We use this information to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status. Telephone numbers and e-mail addresses are only used to contact you regarding your order, unless you request to receive our e-mail newsletter updates.
We invite you to sign up for our newsletter to receive monthly newsletters. When you sign up e-mail address only. Again, we are committed to not selling, renting, or sharing your e-mail address with anyone. If you decide you no longer wish to receive e-mail from us, every e-mail we send to you includes simple instructions on how to opt out of future communications. Returns and Replacements
The buttons in this jewelry have been through sea crossings, revolutions, wars and weddings of the last 180 years. They are ambassadors of times past and show time’s passing in many ways. They are not perfect and we believe that this is part of their beauty. We put close up pictures of the jewelry and the imperfections of the buttons show in these pictures. Naturally we do not consider imperfections in the buttons to be a defect.
Defects in the process of setting the buttons in silver or in assembly may occur and in any case we understand that sometimes people wish to return items they have purchased. We will gladly accept returns if they arrive back to us within 10 days (for refund) or 30 days (for exchange) of their receipt by the customer, unworn, in their original condition and in their original packaging.
We will refund an item if it is returned within ten days of its purchase. After ten days the item can be returned for credit or exchange, for up to 30 days.We do not accept returns after 30 days. However if your jewelry gets damaged after you have received it we will be happy to try and repair it for you – repair fees vary depending on the extent of the damage.
As of October 1st, 2003 all major credit card companies started charging merchants a large percentage for returned items. Since all purchases on the site are done by credit card, we will have to charge a restocking fee for returns. There is no restocking fee if an item is exchanged for items of equal or greater value.
The restocking fees are as follows:
Mastercard, Visa, and Discover: 2.5% of total purchase. American Express: 3% of total purchase.
Restocking fee does not apply to items returned for exchange or store credit. If returned items are damaged or altered, a refund will not be granted.
Jewelry returned for a refund must be sent back in its original packaging. Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded.
